WE Energies Fishing Pier Reopens; Splash Pad May Be Next

OAK CREEK, WI — One Oak Creek summer hangout is open again, and a second one is on its way.

Oak Creek officials said the WE Energies Fishing Pier reopened Tuesday. The pier had been shut down by the Oak Creek Health Department earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Wisconsin.

To access the pier, take E. Oakwood Road from S. Howell Avenue, turn onto Fishing Pier Road and then take North Bowl Road to park.

On Wednesday, Oak Creek officials said they expect to open the splash pad on Drexel Town Square this summer, but do not have a specific date in mind yet, according to a post on the City's official Facebook page.
