NEW BERLIN, WI — Tiger Woods finished The Players Championship in Florida tied for 30th place over the weekend, however his participation in the tournament may best be remembers for an interaction with a Wisconsin man who was waiting for him on the 17th hole.

During Saturday's tournament play, Wisconsin man and avowed Woods fan Thomas Wesling wore a white T-shirt with a photo of Woods' 2017 jail booking photo related to a driving-while-intoxicated incident.

Authorities say Woods had five drugs in his system: vicodin, dilaudid, xanax, ambien and THC in his blood system the night he was arrested for driving under the influence in Jupiter, Florida in August 2017.

Wearing a Green Bay Packers NFL championship hat, pair of sunglasses and that T-shirt, Wesling set up just behind the crowd rope between the 17th hold and the tee box for the 18th hole just to see if he could get a rise out of his golf idol.

Turns out, it worked, and the video has been shown thousands of times online and also on television.

During the video, which was recorded by another spectator, Woods can be seen walking past Wesling. He spots the infamous T-shirt, and tries to hold back a smile as he strides past the peculiar tribute.

“It’s the best 20 bucks I’ve ever spent,” Wesling said in a Yahoo news report.
