Casper College: In-Person July Talk To Introduce Skull Identification

The July Werner Wildlife Study Series at the Werner Wildlife Museum is back at the museum for in-person presentations. The July talk is titled “Skull Identification for Novices” and will be held Thursday, July 15 at 7 p.m.

Led by Museum Assistant Eileen Lemm, those attending will learn the basics of skull structure and how to identify skulls they already have as well as those they find in the field. Participants will also have a chance to examine skulls from the museum’s collection.

Born and raised in Wyoming, Lemm is a Natrona County High School graduate. After spending some time studying art in New Zealand and Virginia, she received her associate in fine arts from Casper College and her bachelor’s in art with a concentration in art history.

During her three years working at the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site in Laramie, she became especially interested in collection management. She has now been at the Werner for six years.

“Skull Identification for Novices” is free and open to the public and is family-friendly. The presentation will take place in the museum’s Artic-Africa Room. The Werner Wildlife Museum is located off the Casper College campus at 405 E. 15th Street and opens from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
