Hollywood Fringe Offers Magic and Comedy Shows

The Hollywood Fringe Festival, an annual festival with shows in theaters, clubs, parks and restaurants, will host over 2,000 performances of more than 375 shows beginning June 8 through June 23.

Started in 2010 by Executive Director Ben Hill, the festival provides stages throughout Hollywood for hundreds of local artists.

In addition to dramas, musicals and one-person shows, this year provides an interactive magic show where audience members decide the winner. Magicians Nick Paul, Simon Coronel, Handsome Jack and Jon Armstrong will battle it out onstage performing their own style of illusions in Name This Magic Show. The winning magician takes home bragging rights and a cash prize.

Armstrong, a world-renowned magician and a regular performer at The Magic Castle, will headline his own Jon Armstrong: Comic Amazement show full of card tricks and humor for all ages. Armstrong can also be seen in the documentary Magicians: Life in the Impossible now showing on Netflix.

The casts for both shows have appeared on Penn and Teller’s Fool Us, The Today Show, the Melbourne Magic Festival, and the world-famous Magic Castle. Our readers can use promo code “AOL” to receive a $5 discount on tickets.
