6 Injured In Suspected DUI Crash On U.S. 101 In Rohnert Park: CHP
A Santa Rosa man with a prior DUI conviction remained behind bars Monday in connection with the crash, the California Highway Patrol said.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — A Santa Rosa man was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, hit-and-run, and other charges in connection with a crash that left six people injured Saturday on U.S. Highway 101 in Rohnert Park, the California Highway Patrol said.
At 4:08 p.m. Saturday, CHP officers were sent to northbound 101, north of Golf Course Drive, where 29-year-old Agustin Delariva had just rear-ended a Toyota Corolla with his Chevy Silverado pickup truck, CHP Spokesperson David deRutte said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that prior to the collision, northbound traffic was at a complete stop. The Corolla driver noticed the traffic ahead and safely brought her car to a stop behind a Mazda 3, deRutte said.

Delariva was speeding and slammed into the back of the Corolla, which caused major damage to the Corolla and pushed it forward into the back of the Mazda, deRutte said.
It is alleged that Delariva drove away from the scene, then stopped on the offramp to Santa Rosa Avenue where he was quickly contacted by CHP.

"Delariva was found to be under the influence and was arrested," deRutte said.
The driver of the Mazda, a 29-year-old Santa Rosa man, suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Corolla, a 38-year-old Carmichael woman, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a nearby Kaiser hospital.
There were four passengers in the Corolla, including a 57-year-old Redwood City woman who suffered major, life-threatening injuries, deRutte said.
Two more women and a man — all from Redwood City — suffered major but not life-threatening injuries.
Delariva, who has a past DUI conviction, was booked into Sonoma County jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, felony hit-and-run with injury, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and ignition interlock device violation, deRutte said.
Delariva remained behind bars Monday in lieu of $100,000 bail, jail records showed.
CHP asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Santa Rosa CHP Office at 707-588-1400.
