High Temps To Hit Rohnert Park, Cotati: Heat Advisory

ROHNERT PARK AND COTATI, CA — A heat advisory was issued Friday for North Bay interior valleys and the Santa Clara Valley.

The advisory remains in effect through 11 p.m. Sunday and covers the cities of Santa Rosa, South Santa Rosa, Napa, San Rafael, Petaluma, Novato, Rohnert Park, Cotati and San Jose, the National Weather Service San Francisco said Friday afternoon.

Widespread high temperatures in the mid-90s to low 100s are likely across inland areas with the hottest locations potentially 102-110 degrees.

In Rohnert Park and Cotati, high temperatures are currently forecast to reach 94 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday.

This will impact those who are sensitive to the heat, weather officials said.

In addition, overnight low temperatures will only cool to the mid-60s to the mid-70s with isolated spots possibly only lowering into the 80s, which will not offer much relief.

"Sensitive populations such as the elderly, infants, and those without access to air conditioning will likely be susceptible to heat-related illnesses," the weather service said. "Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors."

Call 911 and immediately move into the shade if you are experiencing a heat-related illness.
