Cars, Tractor Damaged In BB Gun Shooting: Santa Rosa PD

A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting, police said.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Two cars and a tractor were significantly damaged Thursday when a 15-year-old boy spent his morning shooting passing cars with a BB gun, Santa Rosa police said.

Witnesses called police around 11:20 a.m. and said they saw someone shooting at vehicles and other objects from an apartment window in the 600 block of Boyd Street.

When officers went to the apartment, the 15-year-old boy admitted to shooting at passing cars and at cars parked on the street in front of his residence, SRPD Sgt. Summer Gloeckner said.

"The juvenile handed over to the officers a BB gun that was almost identical to a Glock handgun," Gloeckner said."The juvenile said he had purchased it online. (We have included a picture of the replica gun next to a real Glock. Could you tell the difference?)"

Officers confirmed two passenger cars and a tractor were significantly damaged by the shooting.

"The juvenile was arrested for felony vandalism and released to his parent," Gloeckner said. "Due to his age, the juvenile's name will not be released."
