City Wasting another Million on a Old Building!

The city is redoing a 35 year old building that hasn't brought in $25,000.00 a year in profits. So now they are redoing it without approval!

So the city projects started another project without getting approval or any type of just a for spending the city’s funds. So what they do is take out a project, then add to it without bidding the work out, or justifying it.

So the 35 year old building was out of codes for a occupied building. So they take out a job (that’s not justified by the revenue it produced.) and they added to it. Here are the facts.

Please tell me and our citizens how you justified the spending of $1,000,000.00 or more on a 35 year old building that hasn’t brought in $25,000.00 in profits a year since it was turned over to the city. As usual the city started with a $530,000.00 Roof Replacement project which wasn’t justified in the project review process.
So they did it anyway. And as we all know the city doesn’t follow proper project controls on their work because they just add on work without going through any of the required precesses.
Knowing all about the building from the start I, and being a project manager, building inspector, safety in designs technologist, and overseeing a couple hundred million in projects in a major oil refinery, I know the rules.
Now knowing that the electrical and plumbing, and HVAC doesn’t meet the current standards. So I looked inside today to confirm my suspicions that the city was doing the inside work on the cuff.
I see they are working redoing the inside also. The HVAC is being worked on inside, and we know both units are shot and need replacement.
So how does the City justify the spending? And the Administration Building is abandoned and is rotting apart!
So please let me and the Citizens know why! And I will be posting on all the other web sites with the problem, and your answers, or you lack of responces!

So as you can see they plan to do a lot more work without public input.And you can also see that the Electrical and all the Lights aren’t up to code. The ceiling most likely has asbestos in it. Maybe that’s why it’s all sealed off. You wouldn’t need to seal it for just replacing the Roof. So let’s do a quick estimate on sealing the inside, removing all the popcorn ceiling, Paying the disposal fees, replacing it with new, replacing all the electrical wiring, lights, control panels, HVAC Ducting, Compressors 2 total, and the whole Kitchen needs upgrading.So we are looking at well over $1,000,000.00. For a building that hosts a exercise Group, and a ping pong group. They don’t even pay for the electrical costs to keep it open.
