Cotati Man Busted For Child Pornography
Breaking: Rohnert Park Police made the arrest after a nine-month investigation.
ROHNERT PARK, CA – Rohnert Park Police have arrested a Cotati man for possession of child pornography, according to a statement released Saturday. Police say they served a search warrant Friday on the home of 27-year-old Jose Lara Salgado after an investigation that began nine months ago.
Police say Salgado moved around a lot which made locating him difficult. A tip in May of this year that listed IP addresses involved in transmitting child pornography helped link Salgado to the Cotati area. A search of his phone revealed approximately 50 videos and 1000 images of child pornography. Salgado admitted to possessing the child pornography with the intent to distribute.
He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on Possession of child pornography with intent to distribute, and his bail was set at $750,000.
