Crews Douse Brush Fire At Rohnert Park City Limits

With support from a Cal Fire air strike, the blaze was extinguished by firefighters from several Sonoma County agencies.

ROHNERT PARK, CA — A vegetation fire broke out just north of the Rohnert Park city limits Friday afternoon but was quickly stopped by ground crews and a Cal Fire air tanker, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety said.

The blaze was reported around 3:15 p.m. on Roberts Lake Road/Santa Rosa Avenue, just east of U.S. Highway 101.

"With support from a Cal Fire air strike, the fire was extinguished by ground crews from Sonoma County Fire District, Rancho Adobe Fire Protection District, and Rohnert Park DPS," Rohnert Park DPS Lt./Battalion Chief Jeff Nicks said.

The cause of the fire was being investigated by the Sonoma County Fire District, Nicks said.
