Developmentally Disabled​ Man Assaulted In Rohnert Park: Cops

Arriving officers found a man lying on the sidewalk with a significant head wound.

ROHNERT PARK, CA -- Rohnert Park police on Wednesday asked the public for help in finding two men who allegedly assaulted a developmentally disabled man with a baseball bat. Police said officers responded to a report of an assault at 10:44 p.m. Aug. 16 in the area of Camino Colegio Drive, south of Magnolia Avenue.

Arriving officers found a man lying on the sidewalk with a significant head wound.

The victim told officers he was out for his nightly walk when two men approached him, accusing him of throwing a beer bottle at their house.

One of the suspects then pushed him and hit him in the head with a silver or gray baseball bat, and then both males walked away northbound on Camino Colegio Drive, police said.

The victim described the suspect who hit him with the bat a white male in his 30s or 40s with darker skin and wearing a grey sweatshirt and long pants. The only description the victim was able to provide of the second male was that he was wearing a black hat and long pants.
