Native Plant Garden Volunteer Day

Friday, May 6, 9am-noon Laguna Environmental Center, 900 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa No RSVP necessary

Help maintain and enhance the Laguna Environmental Center's "outdoor classroom." Activities include planting, weeding, spreading wood chips, and general site cleanup.

The native plant landscape includes wildflowers, grasses, sedges, trees, forbes and herbaceous plants. There are 14 heritage fruit trees around the historic farmhouse as well as a small vegetable garden to represent the period (circa 1872) the farmhouse was constructed. The site also includes beautiful views, spots to have a picnic, a living willow tunnel in the Children's Playscape, a bridge over a swale, a pond with wetland plants and an observation deck.

Only heavy rain cancels. Dress with appropriate clothes and shoes that can get dirty. Snacks and tools are provided but please bring water, gloves and friends! RSVP only if you are planning on bringing a group of 8 or more people so that we can have enough supplies.

Driving Directions to the Laguna Environmental Center, 900 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa:
From Hwy 101, take Hwy 12 West towards Sebastopol (Go 3.4 miles). At the first streetlight, turn right on Fulton Road, then take the first immediate left onto Occidental Road (Go 3.2 miles). Turn right on Sanford Road. Laguna Foundation driveway is first on the right.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Hope to see you soon. Let’s jump into spring!
