"Girls On The Run" Attracts Over 300 To Rohnert Park: Images

ROHNERT PARK - Over 300 girls and their adult running partners participated Saturday in the annual "Girls On the Run" event held at the Sonoma Mountain Village complex located south of Sonoma State University.

Girls from grades 3 through 8 were dressed in their best running attire, including tutus and bright colors.

An army of supporters included some that applied temporary hair color spray and face paint before the start of the 5K run.

Girls on the Run Sonoma County organizes the event.

The mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running at Sonoma County schools.
