Junior Roller Derby Comes to Sonoma County
Local league offering classes starting in January.

Resurrection Roller Girls, Rohnert Park's roller derby league, will begin hosting classes for young skaters ages 7 to 17 this January. Resurrection's program is the only junior derby program in the North Bay area. Practices will begin January 8th and take place Tuesdays, from 6 to 7:30 pm at Cal Skate of Rohnert Park.
Junior Roller Derby is played by teams throughout California and the rest of the world, both recreationally and competitively. Roller derby is a game played on roller skates under rules governed by the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA). This sport builds athletic ability while teaching skaters about teamwork and sportsmanship. Junior skaters have also found success moving into adult teams.
The first ten week session will cost $100 for attendance, which is $10 per practice. Additional fees include a $30 one-time jersey purchase and $40 for annual insurance. Insurance is provided by the Women's Flat Track Roller Derby Association (WFTDA).
