The accused robber was found a short time later, Santa Rosa police said.

SANTA ROSA, CA — A man wearing a motorcycle helmet held up a Santa Rosa gas station with a BB gun Tuesday morning, police said.

The robbery was reported just after 10 a.m., Santa Rosa police Sgt. Kyle Philp said.

"The caller stated a male wearing a motorcycle helmet had entered the Valero gas station located at 100 Coddingtown Center armed with a handgun," Philp said. "The suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. After receiving cash from the clerk, the suspect fled the store in a white Kia SUV."

Officers found a BB gun in the SUV and believe it was the "handgun" used in the robbery.

Also found in Parmer's car: the motorcycle helmet worn during the robbery and the cash stolen in the robbery, Philp said.

Parmer was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of robbery and resisting arrest.

Hit bail was set at $50,000 as of Tuesday afternoon, jail records showed.
