SANTA ROSA, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a teen who died in a crash Monday as Taylor Brook Sorg, 16, of Santa Rosa. Sorg, a Maria Carrillo High School student, was riding in a Lincoln MKZ with two other 16-year-old girls when the vehicle crashed around 12:20 a.m. in the Fountaingrove area of Santa Rosa. The girl driving the Lincoln suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, Sgt. Chad Heiser said.

The other 16-year-old passenger suffered major injuries and is at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Police are not releasing their names because they are juveniles.

The crash happened when the driver failed to negotiate a left-hand turn on Skyfarm Drive at the T-intersection of Thomas Lake Harris Drive. The car went up and over a curb, across a sidewalk and struck three trees as it went down an embankment. Sorg and the other girl were ejected from the vehicle, Heiser said.
