North Bay House Fire Displaces One

Firefighters responded Friday to a residential structure fire in Santa Rosa that displaced one person.

SANTA ROSA, CA — Firefighters responded Friday to a residential structure fire in Santa Rosa that displaced one person.

The Santa Rosa Fire Department responded Friday at 6:33 p.m. to a fire at 639A Tupper Ave. and found smoke coming from the residence.

Responding firefighters found a small home on fire behind the main house.
Crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.

The only resident of the home was a man. He told investigators he left the residence and returned to a fire inside. He attempted to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was accidental. The fire did an estimated $40,000 in damage to the structure and contents, and the home was deemed uninhabitable.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced man.
