Pacific Islander Fest Tops List of Activities This Weekend in Rohnert Park

The annual Pacific Islander Festival kicks off the fun events this weekend in Rohnert Park and Cotati.

The sights and sounds of the islands are coming to Rohnert Park this Saturday as organizers prepare of the annual Pacific Islander Festival. 

The fun begins at 10 a.m., and lasts until 8 p.m., at Rohnert Park's City Center Plaza, 500 City Center Drive. Special guests include San Francisco 49er Jesse Sapolu and music performance by Faith Ako. Food booths will highlight the very best of Polynesian cuisine and several vendors will be selling various merchandise.

If you feel like listening to some Russian folk music, a drive to Sonoma might be in the cards. On Saturday, Slavyanka 
Men’s Russian Choir will perform at First Congregational Church, 252 West Spain Street, Sonoma. The choir specializes in Russian sacred and folk music. The concert will include ancient and spiritual sacred music, more 
recent sacred compositions by Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and others, as well as a selection of lively Russian folk songs. Show begins at 10:30 p.m.
