Pedestrian Fatally Struck By SMART Train In Sonoma County
The incident happened in Santa Rosa and northbound passengers were bused to stations north of the crash scene.
SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a SMART train Tuesday in south Santa Rosa.
The fatal incident, which involved the northbound 5:01 train, happened just after 6 p.m. near West Robles Avenue, SMART Spokesperson Matt Stevens said.
Passengers on the train were bused to Santa Rosa Downtown, Santa Rosa North, and the Sonoma County Airport.

The next northbound train, the 6:37, stopped prior to the crash site, at the Cotati station, where a bus took passengers to all stations north.
Stevens referred further questions to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, which responded Tuesday evening to investigate the collision. Patch was not immediately able to reach the sheriff's office Wednesday for further information.
