Police Capture Man Who Allegedy Performed a Kidnapping, Carjacking on His Birthday
Police caught a man whom they say kidnapped a man after he exited the UPS Store in Rohnert Park, and attempted to kidnap a woman in Marin this afternoon.

Some people celebrate their birthdays with cake and ice cream. According to police, Jeffrey Boyce celebrated his 30th birthday by performing a carjacking and kidnapping this afternoon in Rohnert Park.
The bizarre chain of events began 4:30 p.m., at the UPS Store located at Golf Course Drive. Police say Boyce approached a man as he exited the store and got into his vehicle, a 2000 BMW 538I, police said.
Boyce, who turned 30 years old today, walked up to the vehicle, pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and tapped the window with it. He ordered the man to exit the vehicle, and got into the car.

Boyce demanded the man get into the passenger seat, but when the man refused, Boyce allegedly ordered him back into the driver's seat, and Boyce got into the passenger seat before ordering the man to drive him to the nearest church.
The man drove Boyce to Saint Elizabeth Seton, but no one was there, so police say that Boyce ordered the man to drive him back to Mountain Shadows Plaza.

"Once at the plaza, Boyce got out of the car and threatened the victim by telling him he was going to hurt him," a Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety press release stated. "Boyce then removed several rifles from the rear of a truck he drove to the parking lot originally and put them in the victim's vehicle. The victim was able to get away and Boyce fled west in the victim's vehicle."
Police issued an all-points bulletin and received information from the San Francisco Police Department that reported Boyce as mentally ill and in possession of several firearms.Â
Almost three hours later, at 6:51 p.m., the Central Marin Police Authority received a call that Boyce had allegedly walked up to a woman and pointed a rifle to her head. Police say Boyce demanded the woman's truck, but for some reason, was spooked and ran away. The incident occurred at the Bon Air Shopping Center, Greenbrae, according to the Marin Idependent Journal.
Police found Boyce near the Marin incident and took him into custody.
A search of Boyce's truck, the one he left in Rohnert Park, police found several hundred 7.62 mm bullets, as well as six 30-round magazines and a load-bearing vest.
Police also found a loaded .22-caliber rifle in the back seat of Boyce's truck.
Police also found the BMW, along with firearms and ammunition inside of it that police say belonged to Boyce.
