Rohnert Park Pilot Faces Assault Charge Against Arkansas Peace Officer

Dennis Hunter, 40, of Rohnert Park faces a charge of aggravated assault on a deputy.

A Rohnert Park pilot who allegedly led Arkansas deputies on a manhunt is facing up to six years in prison if he is convicted on a charge of aggravated assault on a peace officer.

Police say that Dennis Hunter, 40, was refueling his airplane at Saline County Airport on April 1 when deputies approached him. Police suspected Hunter of transporting drugs on his plane. Hunter allegedly jumped back into his plane and took off as the deputies approached according to this story in the the Press Democrat. 

The assault charge stems from an injury to a peace officer when the plane took off.
