SONOMA COUNTY, CA — The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has identified a passenger who died in a solo-vehicle crash near Monte Rio on Tuesday night as Arleen Michaela Hale-McNamara, 17, of Guerneville.
The driver who also died in the crash was previously identified as Edward Reynolds, 19, of Guerneville.
Both were killed around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when their 2009 Mitsubishi crashed into trees off of eastbound Moscow Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The Mitsubishi was allegedly speeding when it left the road on a right turn and collided with two separate trees, crushing the passenger compartment, CHP officials said.
The car was wedged against a tree when the engine caught fire, and a Sonoma County sheriff's deputy who was traveling west on Moscow Road at the time extinguished the flames before they engulfed the engine, according to the CHP.

The deputy was unable to check on the occupants of the car. Monte Rio Fire Protection District crews responded and pulled the Mitsubishi off the tree. Both Reynolds and Hale-McNamara were pronounced dead at the scene, CHP officials said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
