The suspect was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
ROHNERT PARK, CA — Police arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing reported early Monday morning in Rohnert Park.
Around 5 a.m., the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety was contacted by a local hospital about a 35-year-old woman who came into the emergency room seeking treatment for multiple stab wounds to her neck, Rohnert Park police Sgt. Nick LaBonte said.
An officer was sent to interview the victim at the hospital.

The victim said a friend brought her to the hospital after she was stabbed in the neck multiple times by 21-year-old Charlie Thompson Malicay, at the Budget Inn in Rohnert Park, LaBonte said.
Officers tracked down Malicay at the motel on Redwood Drive and took him into custody without incident.

"[Malicay] admitted stabbing the victim during his interview," LaBonte said. "A motive is unknown at this time. A bloody knife was recovered from Malicay and was suspected as being the weapon used to stab the victim in the neck."
Malicay was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on suspicion of attempted homicide. His bail was set a $1 million, sheriff's jail records showed.
The victim remained at the hospital and was expected to survive her wounds, according to police.
A search warrant was served at the motel room to collect evidence of the stabbing.
There were no outstanding suspects in the case, police said.
The victim and the suspect knew each other but police did not say to what extent.
