Women's Adult Football Coming to Sonoma County

Introducing the Sonoma County Amazons Women's Adult TackleFootball Organization

Santa Rosa, CA — Women’s Semi-Professional football is making its way to Sonoma County. In the spring of 2019 the Sonoma County Amazons Women’s Football Organization will begin playing their home games In Sonoma County.

Their Owner and GM Kenyatta says the team has been a couple of years in the planning and with the success of others teams in the country and the lack of teams in Northern California they felt now was the time to make it happen.

The Amazons are a semi-professional football team that will be made up from adult female athletes from all walks of life. Players are not paid to play, and pay their own fees (much like youth sports) at the semi-professional level. These players are in it strictly for the love of the game and it always shows on game day.

The Organization feels this is the perfect time to bring women’s football to the area and provide high quality family entertainment and awareness for women athletes in the community. The Organization has applied for spot in the Nationally recognized Women’s Football Alliance (WFA). The league consists of over 40 teams from all over the country.

The Sonoma County Amazons County Organization will be holding try outs during the months of October. Training Camps will be held in November and December with full practices to begin. in January. The regular season begins in April 2019.
