Lakewood Mayor’s Inspiration Award: How To Submit Nomination

LAKEWOOD, CO — Lakewood is accepting nominations for the 2021 Mayor's Inspiration Award, which will be given to people or groups that have stepped up to help those in need.

If you know someone who has made a difference in Lakewood — whether through engagement, collaboration, inclusiveness, diversity, innovation or community impact — you have until July 15 to submit a nomination.

Multiple awards could be given in each of the following categories:

• Youth: Anyone under age 18
• Individual: Anyone aged 18 or older
• Organization: Any business, association, service organization, nonprofit, team or group
• In Memoriam: Anyone who made an impact during his or her time in Lakewood.

Winners will be selected in August and recognized at a City Council meeting Sept. 27, the city said.

The Lakewood Advisory Commission, which includes residents who advise City Council on important issues in the city, recommended the creation of the award as a way to recognize those who've made a significant difference in the community.
