Another Branford Restaurant Closes After Chef, Owner Dies

A Branford restaurant near the North Branford line has closed after the recent passing of the chef and owner.

BRANFORD, CT - The restaurant David Henry’s on School Ground Road has closed after the recent death of the chef and owner of the establishment.

On the restaurant’s website is the following:

“Chef David Henry Thomasson had always dreamed of owning and his own restaurant. Through David's hard work, determination and strong will, on November 8th, 2016 that dream became a reality.

“David was so proud to create incredible food, and enjoyed sitting with customers sharing a drink, a chat and a smile.Unfortunately, David became ill and passed away suddenly late last year.

“Gifted with the same amazing characteristics as her father, Juliana decided to carry on with the restaurant, along with Chef Leigh Van Hennik and a dedicated staff.

“Thanks to the continued support of David's loyal following of customers, the restaurant was able to keep going.

“However, it has come time to say goodbye to this truly amazing place.

“Chef David was the heart, mind and soul of David Henry's.

“It is impossible to move forward without him.”
