Branford 2019 Local Elections: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours
Here's what you need to know about Tuesday's 2019 Branford local elections including the candidates, polling places, voting hours and more.

BRANFORD, CT — As voters head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 5 to vote in Branford's municipal election, here's what you need to know.
There are several spots on the RTM, and boards of education and zoning are all up for grabs.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be able to vote even after the deadline passes. You can find your poll location at the Secretary of the State website by inputting your information.

GOP First Selectman James B. Cosgrove is running unopposed. The battle for second selectman is between Raymond Dunbar, a Democrat, and Joseph E. Higgins Jr., a Republican.

Town Clerk Lisa Arpin, a Republican, is running unopposed. Tax Collector Roberta Gill-Brooks is cross-endorsed by both political parties. The candidates for town treasurer are: Kurt Schwanfelder, a Democrat, and Michael T. Nardella, a Republican.
Board of Education candidates for the full six-year term are: Ellen Michaels, a Democrat, and Republicans, Michael A. Krause and Dawn Perrotti. You will vote for two candidates.
The candidates to fill a four-year Board of Education term are: Merideth Gaffney, a Democrat, and Lisa Caruso, a Republican.
The candidates for the Board of Assessment of Appeals are: Joseph Fazzino, a Democrat, and Jason Driscoll, a Republican.
RTM Candidates by District
The candidates for the RTM first district are: Democrats, Richard Saltz, Alisa Waterman, Clare Torelli, and Michele Sember. The Republican candidates are: Lindsay G. Marottoli, Frank Twohill, Patricia Austin, and George D. Wells. You will vote for four candidates.
The candidates for the RTM second district are: Democrats, DeeDee Hakun and Peter Hentschel. The Republican candidates are: Christopher Diadamo and Chris Hynes. You will vote for two candidates.
The candidates for the RTM third district are: Democrats, Linda Erlanger and Peter Jackson. The Republican candidates are Rhoda Phillips and Peter Black. You will vote for two candidates.
The candidates for the RTM fourth district are: Democrats, Dan Adelman, Shahida Soomro, and Cindy L. Lombardi. The Republican candidates are: Linda Mitchell, Jim Stepanek, Sean Kelly, and Tricia Anderson. You will vote for four candidates.
The candidates for the RTM fifth district are: Democrats, Laura Noe, Tracy Everson, and Kathi Traugh. The Republican candidates are: Ray Ingraham, Dennis T. Flanigan, Don Conklin, and Carolyn Sires. You will vote for four candidates.
The candidates for the RTM sixth district are: Democrats, Chad Edgar, Chris Sullivan, and Nancy McCormack. The Republican candidates are Anthony Alfone, Marc Riccio, and Ed Prete. You will vote for three candidates.
The candidates for the RTM seventh district are: Democrats, Tom Brockett and Donna Laich. The Republican candidates are Kevin Healy and Steven Sullivan. You will vote for two candidates.
Connecticut offers Election Day registration, but those who arrive need to be registered by 8 p.m. in order to vote. Unlike previously registered voters standing in line before 8 p.m. to registrar won't guarantee the ability to vote.
