Branford Hornets Win 2017 Firecracker Tournament
The Hornets took two out of three games against East Haven and Marzia Johnson and Paige Richardson both received tournament game balls.
From Branford Hornets: On Sunday June 25th the 14u Branford Hornets won the 2017 Firecracker Tournament at the Pit in East Haven. The Hornets took two out of three games against a very tough East Haven squad. Coach Mark Johnson said “East Haven has a solid team that is well coached, you can tell. They hit well and were fundamentally sound on defense giving us all we could handle. The Foxon league were gracious hosts and we can’t thank them enough. I am so proud of our girls stepping up to the challenge and performing the way they did on Sunday, it was hot, then we got rained on, then it was hot again but our kids stayed mentally tough and focused, what a great group of kids we have here in Branford”.
