Branford to Observe LGBTQ Pride Month

BRANFORD, CT — The Town of Branford is once again pleased to announce its schedule of events to honor PRIDE MONTH, taking place later this month.

Branford Town Hall and the James Blackstone Memorial Library- two of the town’s most iconic buildings- will be illuminated with rainbow lights on the weekend of June 11 through June 13, as a place not only to honor those in the LGBTQ community in Branford but also to remember the 5th year anniversary of the 49 lives lost at the Pulse Nightclub Tragedy in Orlando, Florida on June 12, 2016.

Please visit the buildings on the scheduled weekend any time after sunset to watch them transform colors and shine bright.

In addition, Branford’s Main Street will be lined with Rainbow Flags again and Town Hall will debut one as well.

The Town of Branford initially showed its support for Orlando on June 20th, 2016 with live musical performances under the direction of Cathyann Roding and speeches by Colin Sheehan, Toni Cartisano, Ted Kennedy Jr., Lonnie Reed, Sean Scanlon and Branford’s First Selectman, James B. Cosgrove.

In 2017, the Town of Branford repeated the event for the one year anniversary.
