Branford Starbucks Shuttered After Positive Coronavirus Case
Thanks to a Neighbor Post alerting us, and after a call to Starbucks corporate, we learned the store closed due to a staff COVID-19 case.
BRANFORD, CT — The Branford Starbucks has been closed until Dec. 16 after an employees tested positive for COVID-19, the company told Patch.
After a resident wrote a Neighbor Post looking to find out why the popular store was shuttered with traffic cones in the drive-thru lane, Patch contacted Jory Mendes at Starbucks corporate.
Mendes confirmed what some had mentioned in social media posts: an employee tested positive.

"We recently learned that one of our partners at the store received a positive diagnosis for COVID-19, and along with those determined to have been in close contact with them, has been self-isolating at home," Mendes said.
"As soon as we learned of the diagnosis, we quickly activated our protocols and closed the store to initiate a deep cleaning following all recommended guidelines from public health authorities," Mendes added.

The store is set to reopen next Wednesday.
