Branford WIS Announces Summer Pool Schedule

The ​​Walsh Intermediate School​ has posted its summer pool schedule.

From the Walsh Intermediate School: The Walsh Intermediate School has posted its summer pool schedule.

All swimmers must be out of the building by 9:00 p.m. weeknights as building is locked down promptly at 9:00. The Recreation Department is not responsible for lost or stolen articles. Please bring a lock with you to keep your belongings safe. Swimmers are only allowed in the locker rooms and pool areas. You may not enter the building for any reason.

  • All electronic devices (phones, tablets, i-pads, etc.) are prohibited on pool deck.
  • The pool is available for Branford residents ONLY!
  • Swimmers must sign in upon entering pool deck.
  • Everyone MUST be in a bathing suit; no cut-offs, jeans or street clothes in pool.
  • Children under the age of 10 MUST be accompanied by an adult.
  • All toddlers/infants MUST wear a swim diaper in the pool. No diapers are allowed.
  • No glass containers on deck.
  • PLEASE do not distract the lifeguards while they are working. Your safety depends on their performance.
  • No chewing gum or food allowed on deck or in pool.
  • Adult swim is for those 18 years and older.
  • Masks, snorkels or unattached flotation devices are prohibited.
  • Only U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests allowed for non-swimmers. Please see the lifeguards for lifejackets if necessary.
  • No running, horseplay or pushing on the pool deck or in the locker rooms.
  • Anyone with bandages or contagious skin diseases will not be allowed in the pool.
  • Children wearing life vests are not allowed in the deep end without an adult. Adult must be in pool and within arm’s reach of child in life vest.
  • Diving is only allowed in designated areas at the discretion of the lifeguard.
  • One person is allowed on the diving board at a time; one bounce per jump.
  • Back dives and flips are NOT allowed.
  • Children 5 years and older MUST be in the appropriate gender locker room.
  • Parents: children should NEVER be left unattended. Lifeguards are not babysitters.
  • Most importantly: OBEY THE LIFEGUARDS!
