Car Break-Ins on the Rise in Branford
The Department's Police Chief says people are leaving valuables in plain sight in their vehicles.

BRANFORD, CT – The town’s police chief is warning residents to be lock their cars when at town parks. “We are getting inundated with break ins of cars,” Police Chief Kevin Halloran told the Board of Police Commissioners at their May 8th meeting.
Halloran said the Supply Pond, Youngs Pond and Pleasant Point Road areas have been particularly hard hit in recent weeks by break ins of cars.

“People are leaving purses in their front seats,” said Halloran, as they go for strolls into the park. “People continue to leave stuff in plain view.”
As the weather warms up and more people visit the town’s parks, the chief said, the problem only gets worse.

The simple solution the chief said is for people to lock their cars, and keep valuables out of plain view.
