UPDATE: Fatality In Crash On I-95 In Branford: State Police

At around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, an accident on I-95 in Branford between a motorcycle and another vehicle claimed a life.

BRANFORD, CT — Connecticut State Police reporting there are "fatal injuries" after a mid-afternoon between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle on I-95 in Branford.

According to CSP Trooper First Class Pedro A. Muñiz, at just before 3:40 p.m., state police from Troop G Bridgeport were dispatched to the area of I-95 South near Exit 55 within the town of Branford for a report of a fatal crash.

Muñiz said "fatal injuries were sustained."

The State Police-Collision Analysis Reconstruction Squad is assisting in the crash investigation.

State police said that the Department of Transportation is handling the closure of the highway's left lane.

"We are asking that anyone traveling in or around the area to use alternate routes," Muñiz said.
