Hazardous Weather Outlook, Frost Advisory Issued For Connecticut

From 90 degrees on Wednesday to a Frost Advisory for Connecticut, here is a look at our major weather changes on the way.

(Patch Graphic )

CONNECTICUT — Two days ago we were breaking records as temps in parts of Connecticut pushed 90 degrees and now we're talking about the first frost of the season tonight. Welcome to New England where the weather is always a bumpy ride.

The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for the entire state minus the immediate I-95 corridor in Fairfield and New Haven counties, but it will still be very chilly here too. A Hazardous Weather Outlook has also been issued for interior sections of Southern Connecticut.

The good news is that while it will be chilly this weekend, it appears to be largely dry minus a chance for showers on Sunday afternoon. But the rain chance is just 20 percent.

For interior sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties, and all of Middlesex and New London counties, the National Weather Service says a Frost Advisory is in effect from midnight tonight until 9 a.m. Saturday.

"Temperatures falling into the mid 30s will result in frost formation.* IMPACTS...Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered."

"IMPACTS...Frost could kill sensitive outdoor vegetation if left uncovered."

For Litchfield County, the NWS says a Frost Advisory is also in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Saturday as temps will fall into the 30s.

The NWS says a cold front will move through the area this afternoon and we can expect wind gusts of around 30 mph at times.

"Temperatures should manage to rise quickly into the 60s this morning, then remain steady or slowly fall during mid to late afternoon with the cold frontal passage. Winds should diminish tonight under clear skies. Widespread 30s for low temperatures will occur in many places..."

"Skies will remain sunny on Saturday with the high passing overhead, while temperatures struggle to approach or just reach 60 in the afternoon. Moderation to near or slightly above normal temperatures is expected on Sunday as the high passes east."
