Hey Kids, Go Fly A Kite And Then Go Catch A Fish!
Branford parks and rec have a bunch of fun kids programs lined up. Register soon as spots fill up.
BRANFORD, CT — From kite flying to fishing, there's a lot of fun family and kid activities from the town's park and rec department coming up.
Starting with kite-flying day Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon for kids 5 and up at Foote Memorial Park. It's "free, fun" and there's prizes. Register today by calling 203-488-8304 or online here.
Next up is the Kids Fishing Derby set for May 15. Sponsored by parks and rec and Branford Elks, the event at Chet's Pond starts with check-in at 8:30 a.m. with hooks in the water from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. It's open for ages 15 and under, with kids under 10 accompanied by an adult. Kids need to bring their won pole, bait, chair and bucket. There will be prizes for the biggest trout, first boy and first girl catch, and the most fish caught.
