How Branford Residents 75 And Older Can Get A COVID-19 Vaccine

Healthcare providers will begin making calls to people 75 and older, but vaccine appointments can be made online, by phone or by email.

BRANFORD, CT — Starting Thursday, folks in the community who are age 75 or older will be contacted by their healthcare provider to schedule an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, town and health officials said.

Residents are urged not to contact their physician or healthcare provider directly for COVID-19 vaccine appointments but rather to await the call or make an appointment online here. or, by calling the state's COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Assistance Line at 877-918-2224.

The phone system was created in partnership with the Department of Public Health and United Way of Connecticut and is specifically targeted to provide support for eligible vaccine recipients who have limited technology access, or who have language, disability, or other barriers that could prevent them from using existing self-scheduling options successfully.

The line will take calls on Mondays through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will offer a call-back option when all contact specialists are busy serving other callers. The team will aim to return calls as soon as possible, with the goal of same-day response.

For those who'd prefer to use email, they're asked to send an email requesting a COVID-19 vaccination to the East Shore District Health Department at info@esdhd.org include your name, age, phone number, address and email address.

The town noted that it hopes residents will, "Please share this information with your elderly relatives, friends and neighbors that may not have computer access."
