BRANFORD, CT — The Branford Townhouse Restaurant reopened Monday after being closed for more than two months. The family-owned restaurant's meals are now available for curbside pick up.

Nontas Groumousas, son and nephew to the restaurant's co-owners, said while Connecticut now allows restaurants to open for outdoor seating, the Townhouse Restaurant is limiting its service to curbside as the owners "get back into the swing of things."

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Patrons hoping to place an order are asked to call the restaurant at (203) 481-0550. Limited takeout menus are available on the restaurant's website and Facebook page.

Groumousas said the restaurant is co-owned by his father and uncle, 40-year veterans of the restaurant industry.

"They're older gentlemen," he said. "This is a tough time, especially as a lot of seniors have been struggling with the situation. They've been in the industry for 40 years — 30 year here in Branford."

Since announcing the restaurant's opening, Groumousas said his family has received tremendously positive feedback.

"We've been posting on Facebook and everything," he said. "There's lots of love coming back in.
It's been heartwarming. Someone almost tried to give us a hug, [but we've got to] keep social distance."

According to the restaurant's Facebook page, Branford Townhouse Restaurant aims to reopen its dining room on June 20.
