When Is the Last Day to Pay Branford Property Taxes without Penalty?

Thursday, Aug. 1, is the last day that you can pay your property taxes in the Town of Branford without late penalties.

Time is running out to pay your first installment for all real estate and personal property taxes in Branford without penalty. Taxes were due to be in the mail or paid in person to the Town of Branford Tax Collector by July 1, 2013.

However, if you still haven't submitted your payment, you can still do so without penalty until 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Beginning Aug. 2, late payments will result in an interest charge of 1.5 percent per month from the July 1, 2013 due date. The minimum interest charge is $2. The current tax rate is 25.59 mills.

Tax bills are issued July 1 each year and payments are due semiannually in July (first installment) and the following January (second installment). There is no mailing for the second installment of the real estate and personal property tax bills. Both payment coupons were included in the bill mailed in June. Motor vehicle bills are billed in one installment.
