Artistic Director Keely Baisden Knudsen is ecstatic to announce that Legacy's Campaign Co-Chairs Stephanie and Luke Williams have donated $1.2 million to the Staging the Future Campaign for the Legacy Theatre. This gift kicks off the public phase of the $4.2 million campaign and entitles them to name the theater. It also challenges the community to match $200,000 of the pledge.

“I couldn’t be more excited and grateful for the Williams’ amazing gift and for their leadership on the Board and Campaign Committee. Their faith, enthusiasm, and perseverance in the vision of the restoration of the Puppet House will catapult the revitalization- and their leadership has been instrumental in getting us to this point. Over the years our donor base of individuals, foundations, and corporations have been so supportive and patient, and with this 1.2 million dollar surge, including the $200,000 challenge grant, we are excited to get to the finish line as soon as possible and move in with our seasons of shows and classes,” says Knudsen.

The Legacy Theatre is raising $4.2 million to both restore the historic Stony Creek Theater to a state-of-the-art performing arts center and to continue providing a wide range of theatrical programming to the Shoreline community. Since 2011, the theatre has provided the community with numerous classes, workshops, in-school programs, acting classes and more than 40 theatrical productions – including this summer’s lauded production Hamlet on the Guilford Green. The Legacy has partnered, and will continue to partner, with local organizations to expand their reach and audience.Permit applications have been filed, and the Board hopes to begin construction in the next three months.
