Long-Time Branford High Coaches To Have Field Named After Them

BRANFORD, CT — After 41-years of coaching the Branford field hockey team, the school system is honoring Cathy McGurk and her husband, John, who also served as a long-time assistant coach, The Sound reports.

The playing field will be renamed "Cathy and John McGuirk Field Hockey Field." They retired at the end of the 2017 season. The field is part of the James L. MacVeigh Alumni Athletic Complex at Branford High School, The Sound reports.

An event will be held next year honoring the couple.
