Months-Long Seawall Construction Project Gets Underway Tuesday

The project on Limewood Avenue between Sybil Avenue and Crouch Road is expected to be done by May 31, 2021.

BRANFORD, CT — A major, months-long seawall construction project begins Tuesday, the state department of transportation announced.

The Route 146 Seawall Rehabilitation Construction Project includes replacing the existing seawall, road reconstruction, drainage improvement and pedestrian safety improvements to the Indian Neck Trail.

The project on Limewood Avenue between Sybil Avenue and Crouch Road is expected to be done by May 31, 2021.

Motorists can expect Limewood Avenue lane closures, Branford police said on Facebook, and "alternating one way traffic through the use of temporary traffic signals to be in place for the duration of the project, for the period from on or about September 10, 2020 to May 1, 2021."

And, the southern leg of Wilford Road at Route 146 will be closed, and traffic will be detoured during construction.
