Obituary: Donald A. Monack, 95, of Branford

A U.S. Navy veteran who served honorably in World War II, he worked as a maintenance manager at US Steel.

Donald A. Monack, of Branford, CT passed away peacefully April 8, 2021 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline Burns Monack.

Donald was born May 24, 1925 to Anthony and Anna Monack in Charleroi, PA. He attended Penn State and graduated from Purdue University.

Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving honorably in World War II. He worked for many years as a Maintenance Manager at US Steel. Donald loved being with his family, was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

Donald is survived by his children: Donald R. (the late Susan) Monack of Mashpee, MA, Robert L. (Angie) Monack of East Haven, Jeffrey G. (Sue) Monack of Branford; sister: Elaine Keefe of North Carolina; Grandchildren: Michael, Brian, Melissa, Sonny, Julia; Great-grandchildren: Drew, Ellie, Olivia, Maxwell, Cecelia, Charles and Grace.

He was predeceased by siblings: Michael Monack, Vivian Dixon and Roseanne Wolfram; and a grandson Gregory.
