Obituary: Janine A. Allen Lomartra, 59, of Branford

Janine A. Allen Lomartra, 59, of Branford, passed away on Wednesday June 16, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Lomartra.

Janine was born May 23, 1962, in New Haven, daughter of the late David W., Sr. and Marian H. Johnson Allen. She was the mother of Mark Lomartra, grandmother of Giovanni Lomartra and honorary grandmother to Brian Paprocki, Jr. Janine is also survived by her brother David (Karen) Allen, Jr. of Conway, SC, sisters, Dawn Knowlton of Branford and Janet (Robert) Stevens of Jackman, ME, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Anne Allen and brothers, Walter, James and Kenneth Allen.

Janine was an avid gardener who loved taking care of her vegetable and flower gardens. She also loved playing Bingo at Foxwoods, going for ice cream and taking walks with her family and friends.

Her family would like to thank Blaine Campbell and Jolee Criscuolo for all of the support given to her family, and a special thank you to Connecticut Hospice for the wonderful care and support from Akilah, Jessica, Amanda, Lauren and Debbie.

Friends are invited to a funeral service Saturday morning at 10:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford and may call prior to the service from 9 – 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
