Obituary: Richard J. “Ricky” Vining, Jr., 69, of Branford
Ricky, who worked for the town of Hamden and as a driver for Cherry Hill Construction, loved animals and his beloved dogs, Jackson and Beau.

Richard J. “Ricky” Vining, Jr of Branford, died Thursday on his 69th birthday, from injuries received in a traffic accident.
Ricky was born in New Haven April 29, 1952, son of the late Richard J., Sr. and Mary Jean Hurley Vining. He had worked for the Town of Hamden for many years until retiring. He then worked as a driver for Cherry Hill Construction for many years. He was a longtime friend of Bill W., and was a great lover of animals.

Ricky is survived by his brothers, Jay Vining of Shelton and Brian Vining of Norwich; his sister Susan Vining of Cheshire and his niece Margaret Vining of Norwich; his many friends, and his beloved dogs, Jackson and Beau.
The hours of visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 – 8 PM at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 2819 Whitney Ave., Hamden. (Meet directly at church, and masks must be worn. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Hamden.
