Schools Invite Parents To Committee Meeting To Voice Concerns

The Branford board of education will use its communication committee as a vehicle for parents to have their voices heard on school matters.

BRANFORD, CT — As promised to parents at a recent school board meeting after many complained that they were not being heard, or responded to, when they asked for a plan that would get students back in classes full-time, the Branford Board of Education is utilizing its Communication Committee meetings as the venue for families to share their voices.

In a statement emailed to Patch from schools Superintendent Hamlet Hernandez, it's noted that at its March 17 meeting, the school board "committed to providing a mechanism for parents to continue to address communication-related issues that can improve our District."

And the board's Communication Committee will be the vehicle for that he said.

Hernandez said that the next meeting of the Communication Committee is April 7 at 6 p.m. in the Walsh Intermediate School cafeteria.
