Stony Creek Christmas Pageant Announced for December 8

The annual Stony Creek Christmas Pageant takes place on Saturday evening, December 8 from 6-8 p.m.

Stony Creek, CT: The annual Stony Creek Christmas Pageant takes place on Saturday evening, December 8 from 6-8 p.m. Hosted by the Stony Creek Congregational Church with support from the Stony Creek Community and the Town of Branford, the long running holiday event depicts seven biblical Christmas scenes staged in and around the quaint Village of Stony Creek.

At 6 p.m. the Stony Creek Fife & Drum Corp kicks off the night’s activities by marching the ½ mile route from the Stony Creek Museum to Madera Park. The biblical scenes feature a number of local actors, sheep and other livestock. Over 1,000 luminaries light the festival route.

A Musical Performance by Allegro Performing Arts Academy will be held in the sanctuary of the Congregational Church at 6:15 pm.

That evening the general public is invited to walk through the Stony Creek Museum. An open house will be held The Church of Christ Congregational in Stony Creek during pageant hours for refreshments. Stony Creek Shops and Restaurants plan to be open for the event. Branford’s Food Pantry, Branford Counseling Center’s Basic Needs Program, Take a Vet Fishing and Community Dining Room will be providing information in the Church Fellowship Hall. Donations towards the work of these charities will be accepted. There is no charge for any of the pageant activities but donations to help defray the costs of the pageant will be accepted at the event.

In case of severe weather, the event will be postponed until December 15. Without support of Premier Auto Group, Stony Creek Depot, Vicky & Company, Sea Mist, Stony Creek Package Store, The Town of Branford, Legacy Theater and a number of local businesses and families this event would not be possible. The event also is supported by Deb Gottschalk Graphic Design, Taken for Granite, H. W. ZuWalick & Sons Sawmill, Isaiah’s Popsicle Stand, Theodore Ells, Attorney at Law, Seaside Home and Gifts and Foxfield Farm, Branford, CT.
