Storm Power Outages: What You Need To Know

BRANFORD, CT — With a storm incoming, power outages are likely. But if your power goes out and you don't notify the utility, it usually doesn't know.

And while Eversource says it is ready to respond in the event of outages as a result of the storm, it needs to know where it's responding.

So your power goes out and now you're wondering when it's coming back on, and who else is out, or how widespread the outage is, that information can be found in the interactive outage map.

Eversource customers can sign up for storm text where you can get the latest information restoration efforts in a particular area.

If you have to drive, watch out for downed trees and downed wires and in the roadway. Don’t drive across a downed powerline!

Batten down the hatches and if the lights go out, please be careful with candles!
