This week, celebrate summer with a Summer Block Party, check out a town meeting or events at the Blackstone and more!

Now that I'm in a food coma from the 29th annual Branford Festival, it's time to look ahead to the actual start of summer, which is this Friday, June 21 – summer solstice!
Here's a peek at what's happening in town this week. For a full list of stuff to do, look at the Patch calendar of events.
Celebrity Scoopers at Rita's: On Monday, June 17, proceeds will benefit The Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and on Tuesday, June 18, teachers from Pine Orchard School will be scooping!
At the Blackstone Library: An Estate and Health Care Planning Seminar hosted by Merrill Lynch is Tuesday, June 18 and the Branford Multiple Sclerosis Support Group meets on Wednesday, June 19.Â
Summer Block Party:Â "The Block Down Under," located in the Branford Town Center, is throwing a party that includes sales, martinis, sweets, models, a jewelry artist and a live DJ on Thursday, June 20.
Branford Town Meetings: This week, meetings include Regional Water District and Board of Ethics (special) on Monday, June 17; Cosgrove Animal Shelter Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals on Tuesday, June 18; Economic Development Commission, Board of Selectmen, Board of Ed; Metro-North Rail Commuter Council and Housing Authority (special) on Wednesday, June 19; and the RWA, Community Forest Commission, Regional Water District Representative Policy Board and Planning & Zoning Commission on Thursday, June 20.
Looking Ahead: Walk the Kaczynski Property and Nature Explorer Program: Treasure Hunt on Saturday, June 22; Branford TKD Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Sunday, June 23; and Ice Cream Fundraiser for Branford Compassion Club at Ben & Jerry's on Monday, June 24.Â
