Transfer Station Holidays Hours, Christmas Tree Disposal Options

And, oh Christmas tree, how do we dispose of thee? The Boy Scouts have that covered.

(Ellyn Santiago/Patch)

BRANFORD, CT —The Branford Transfer Station will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas Day. It will also be closed on Saturday, Dec. 28, and Wednesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Curbside collections will be delayed one day both weeks for those with a Wednesday and Thursday collection.

For those with a living Christmas tree please remember the Town of Branford does not collect them curbside. But, residents have the option of bringing a tree to the Transfer Station where the trees are chipped and mulch is made available for those with the town resident sticker. Please remember to remove all ornaments, tinsel, lights and any other decorative materials including tree stands.
