Update On Branford Trash Collection: What You Need To Know
If an "oversized" sticker is on your can, it must be replaced within a week. Oversize, overweight cans aren't safe for workers, town says.
BRANFORD, CT — This month, trash collection crews will be putting stickers on trash containers that are oversized.
The town's solid waste department is hoping to get this message out to all residents.
"If your trash can has an “oversized” sticker placed on it you will need to get a new container within one week that meets the Town of Branford’s requirements. Trash cans should be 50 gallons or less in size, weigh no more than 50 lbs. when filled, & lids should not have hinges. These oversized/overweight containers are very heavy and unsafe for the workers to lift.

If you have been using an oversized container for curbside trash collection please make arrangements to replace it before your next collection day to avoid any interruptions in your weekly curbside collection and trash left behind. If you have any questions please call 203-315-0622
For anyone whose trash was not collected on Tuesday 5/4/2021 due to exceeding the oversized limit, please leave your trash to the curb and it will be picked up by Friday 5/7/2021."
